Dr. Samory T. Pruitt

Dr. Pruitt is vice president for Community Affairs and Executive Director of the Center for Community-Based Partnerships.  As vice president he is responsible for developing and managing the University’s public outreach programs and for providing leadership with respect to inclusiveness, cultural competency and quality of life.  As executive director of CCBP, Pruitt is responsible for the full range of the Center’s programs and development.  Dr. Pruitt holds bachelor’s, master’s and Ph. D degrees from the University.

Dr. Estelle Ryan Clavelli

Dr. Ryan Clavelli is Associate Director of Education.  Responsible for the Center’s educational initiatives, she holds a B.S. from Southern Connecticut State University, and an M.A. and Ph. D from The University of Alabama.

Christopher  H. Spencer

Mr. Spencer is Associate Director of Community Development.  Duties include projects in Alabama’s Black Belt.  He holds a B.S. from the University of Alabama and an MSCE. from the University of West Alabama.

Dr. Ed Mullins

Dr. Mullins is a retired UA dean who works part time with communications and marketing and edits and designs Center publications.  He holds the B.A. from UA, M.A form Ohio State and the Ph.D from UNC Chapel Hill.

David Ford

Mr. Ford is Clinical Instructor and Sam Walton Faculty Fellow in Management and Marketing in the College of Commerce and Business Administration. Ford is director of AlabamaREAL and the Hess Retailing Institute. He has served or is currently on the boards of Theatre Tuscaloosa, Alabama Public Radio, Chamber of Commerce, Forerunners, Leadership Tuscaloosa and Tuscaloosa's Sister City Commission. He holds the bachelor's and MBA degrees.

Tommie Syx

Ms. Syx is currently assigned to coordinate the AlabamaREAL project, an entrepreneurship training and curriculum program for K-14 students and community development individuals. She has worked at The University of Alabama since 1993.
