PleasantsWorksWithStudentsWEbSince its inception in 2006, the Center for Community-Based Partnerships has been recruiting community members and University faculty, staff and students to participate in a wide variety of community engagement opportunities. Prospects for involvement range from initiating a project with University and community partners to conducting research, writing for publication, designing brochures and maintaining websites.

There’s something for everyone. Before inquiring about these opportunities read through our websites: communityaffairs.ua.edu, ccbp.ua.edu, and crossroads.ua.edu.

We offer graduate assistantships, year-round internships, and work study assignments in a variety of areas, from writing to print and video editing, from qualitative and quantitative research to photography, from events planning to graphic design, and from in-house training to website production and summer camp instruction. And all of our assignments come with ongoing and career-supporting training. Our alumni go on to top graduate programs or into good jobs in business, industry and the professions.

For specific information regarding joining our team, including how to be trained for the many opportunities we offer, contact Dr. Melanie Miller at mmiller@bama.ua.edu or 205-348-7390.
