A BIG THANK YOU to Phillip Johnson of Shelton State Community College for his leadership on the September 23 Global Cafe panel about community resources for newcomers. We learned a lot from one another at the first Global Café evening event. New arrivals to Tuscaloosa were welcomed by key community leaders. People from Shelton State Community College, Tuscaloosa’s One Place, the University of Alabama Law Clinic, Tuscaloosa City Schools, and the University of Alabama Off-Campus Housing Office offered helpful information. Students were joined by community members and recent arrivals to Tuscaloosa. Thanks to everyone for making this event a success.
