Greetings to our Global Café friends. We hope you and your families are doing well in this challenging time. Know that you are in our hearts each day.
We celebrate the wonderful friendships we have made during our time together at Global Café. Because the COVID19 restrictions do not let us meet in person, our events and meetings are postponed until campus reopens. We are sending our thoughts in this message of appreciation for your many contributions to this year’s successes.
Through our work together, we have developed our language skills, met families from around the world, developed partnerships with helpful people in the Tuscaloosa community, and built warm relationships to enhance our UA experience.
The Global Café moments you created this year have invited international students and community members to meet their American counterparts, practice English conversation, and learn about American culture. Global Café now brings together more than 60 language tutors engaging 86 language partners in thousands of contact hours of one-on-one conversation each year. We also worked together to offer events where people gathered to use their English language in a casual atmosphere, learn about local resources in Tuscaloosa, and make friends. Global Café is a precious space and you are the reason why.
We cherish the time we have had together and send you our encouragement as you finish your school year online.
